About the Role: We're open to Expressions of Interest for Chefs and experienced Cooks for Fly in Fly out (FiFo) positions on our remote Oil and Gas mining camps. Ventia's Cooks pride themselves on creating hearty catering services for all field-based staff on our remote mobile camps, providing a home away from home in remote and diverse country across Queensland.
Our FiFo Mobile Camps roles allow you to work independently in the kitchen, bringing your culinary skills and 'home-cooked' style meals to the table. You will be preparing a variety of meals from breakfasts, snacks, desserts, and hearty dinners, catering for approximately 8-35 field staff and reporting directly to the Camp Manager.
Duties: Provide high-quality, nutritious food to our employees & clients. Manage and run the kitchen autonomously. Cooking, food prep, cleaning of the kitchen & assisting with ordering. Strict adherence to all HSE policies, procedures & safe food handling practices. Contribute with a high level of customer service. Assist with transportation of meals, general cleanliness, laundry services, and other ad hoc duties as required. Skills & Experience: Qualifications in commercial cookery, food safety, or similar are advantageous but not essential. Manual Driver's Licence mandatory. Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol test. Current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willing to obtain. Current National Police Clearance Certificate or willing to obtain. Flexible availability (including night shifts) with the ability to work away from home for extended periods.
