The Opportunity
In this permanent full-time position based in Adelaide, South Australia, as the Experienced Asset Engineer Secondary Systems you will be tasked with maintaining a safe and reliable network by providing technical expertise for the ongoing operation and maintenance of protection and control systems across the network.
You will need to have a good understanding of the technical requirements for operating and maintaining secondary systems devices and schemes to support your role and will be responsible for acceptance of new plant, monitoring operational performance, interpreting condition information and diagnosing failure events.
Success in this role is characterised by the application of technical knowledge, a proactive and innovative approach to generation of ideas that continually transform our network for optimal performance and resilience.
About You
Here's what we're looking for in our next team member:

Approximately 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience in the operations or maintenance of secondary systems within the utilities and power transmission industry.
Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering with eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia.
Strong understanding of secondary systems design, application and testing practices.
An understanding of asset life cycle management principles.
Knowledge of transmission system components, performance and operation.
Experience in providing technical input into project briefs and project justification to support major corrective action decisions and/or refurbishment options.
Knowledge of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Hazard and Operability assessment (HAZOP), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Strong communication skills and is comfortable engaging and influencing both internal and external stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.
Experience in reliability engineering (statistical analysis) is desirable, but not essential.
Flexible approach to working hours and after-hours commitments.
