Position Scope
Due to ongoing business growth, we are looking for a mid to senior level structural engineer to join the team. Based in Wollongong, you will work on a range of mining, ports and transport infrastructure (bridges, roads, rail) remediation design projects across the country.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity in a highly regarded and established consultancy that values its staff and invests in their professional development
Key Responsibilities
Work on ongoing critical projects with a key focus on safety and quality.
Work on structural design and load rating projects including analysis of mining/marine/transport infrastructure structures with concrete and steelwork;
Act as client contact as appointed for specific projects;
Conduct site inspections to identify structural defects and scope upgrades;
Liaise with staff members in our other offices; and
Other tasks as allocated by senior staff.
Selection Criteria
Whilst there will be on-the-job training and the opportunity for career progression, the successful applicant will ideally have:
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering;
Minimum 5 years of industry experience;
Competent using structural analysis software packages i.e. SpaceGass, Strand7;
Sound knowledge and experience in structural design, analysis, client/stakeholder management and project delivery;
Experienced with site inspections and defect identification.
Hold or be working towards CPEng
Highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
Open unrestricted drivers licence;
Be currently residing in Australia with associated full working rights if applicable;
Hold membership with Engineers Australia; and
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Whilst not mandatory, experience with durability and remediation engineering and/or cathodic protection will be advantageous.
