The Opportunity
To provide a high level of confidential, secretarial/executive support to the defined specialty teams within the Women's and Children's Service Group – Paediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Neonatal - and liaise as required with a range of clients from within and external to the organisation.
Undertake accurate, timely and efficient medical typing duties as required and directed to support clinical services within the Health and Wellbeing Service Group.
Role requirements There are nil mandatory qualifications for this position; however, knowledge of medical terminology and medical typing experience are highly desirable.This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
Provide a high standard of administrative and secretarial skills to prepare complex documents, agendas, minutes, and draft replies to correspondence.Proven ability to work effectively as an individual with limited supervision or collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team that provides clinical care, establishing work priorities, meeting deadlines, coordinating tasks and workflow, and adapting as required to meet the needs of a changing work environment.Have high-level accuracy for data entry. Focus on "getting it right the first time." Ability to review own work and make relevant amendments, saving rework.Highly accurate utilisation of Microsoft Office 365 suite – including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint - and electronic corporate/patient information systems and databases which includes the ability to retrieve and interpret information.Possess excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads. Have exceptional attention to detail and have the ability to work autonomously.Provide a high degree of initiative, decision-making ability, and negotiating skills required to resolve issues in a busy day-to-day environment together with reliability in meeting deadlines and commitments.Effective consultative, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills incorporated with integrity, sound judgment, and discretion.Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply standards, policies, and procedures relevant to role to deliver patient and corporate outcomes that contribute to the achievement of organisational goals.Ability to organise all aspects of the office including all administrative tasks, maintenance of office equipment and the ability to work as an effective member of a team within the Women's & Children's Service Group.Please refer to the Role Description for further details.
Generous remuneration package value up to $97,656 p.a. comprising:
