As the Executive Officer for Landscape Boards South Australia you will be responsible for: Leading the development and delivery of projects and programs by coordinating multi-agency working groups and fostering collaboration among the nine landscape boards and partners.Supporting General Managers and Board Chairs by providing timely advice and information, actioning priority tasks, generating opportunities for strategic discussions and collaboration.Developing and maintaining productive relationships at a regional, state and national level, including with Chairs and General Managers of landscape boards, relevant government and non-government agencies, sector and industry peak bodies and key stakeholders within and beyond the NRM sector.Actively contributing to guide statewide strategic planning and policy development.Coordinating the Landscape Board Chairs' Forums and General Managers' meetings. Organising and supporting meetings to drive strategic discussions, collaboration, and alignment across the landscape boards.Producing timely communications and providing advice to landscape boards and partners to ensure key government policies, strategic direction and operational reforms are implemented.Providing strategic leadership and management to a small team.Bringing energy and drive to this position to support the ongoing success of the Landscape Boards.About You: Strong understanding of landscape boards functions, Landscape South Australia Act 2019 and the regulatory environment.Ability to interpret and apply legislation to provide both strategic and operational solutions.Experience in project management, including leading multi-agency projects to develop policies and implement outcomes.Leadership experience working with a diversity of stakeholders with different perspectives of initiative and innovation.Experience in making critical decisions that guide strategic direction.High level of understanding of changing state and national political contexts as they apply to natural resource management.A degree or equivalent in law, policy, management, administration, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Agriculture or similar is highly desirable.About Landscape Boards of South Australia: Through the Landscape South Australia Act 2019 (Landscape Act), eight regional landscape boards and Green Adelaide support their local communities to manage soils, water, pest plants and animals, and biodiversity.
Landscape boards invest landscape levies into regional priorities as well as leveraging Australian Government funding for managing and protecting the State's productive and natural landscapes.
The key priorities of each Board are outlined in their respective Regional Landscape Plans, with a focus on climate resilience and biodiversity to support the development of resilient landscapes and sustainable primary production, water management along with other land uses, emerging industries and markets.
Landscape boards are responsible for facilitating the management of landscapes in partnership with landholders, key partners, and stakeholders.
Landscape boards are statutory bodies and instruments of the Crown, accountable to, and subject to the direction of, the Minister for Climate, Environment and Water.
