Executive Officer / Club Support Manager - ACTWe are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join Bowls Australia in a dual role; Executive Officer of Bowls ACT and Club Support Manager for ACT. Employed by BA, the position is responsible for managing the day to day activities of Bowls in the ACT. As the EO, you will manage the overall operations of bowls, including finance, compliance and governance responsibilities. As CSM, you will be responsible for providing support to ACT Bowls Clubs as part of Bowls Australia's Club Support Program, with a focus on enhancing club participation and growth.Key Responsibilities:Executive Officer ACT (overseen by the Bowls ACT Board):To manage the governance requirements of Bowls ACT, supporting the President and Board.To manage the operational functions of Bowls ACT effectively and efficiently. Manage events, commercial development, communications and the High Performance program.To manage the financial aspects of Bowls ACT, including reconciliation, records and reporting.To oversee compliance matters of Bowls ACT.Duties as directed by the Bowls ACT Board and PresidentClub Support Manager ACT:On Green initiatives – Grow participation by supporting clubs to deliver social participation programs (Jack Attack, barefoot/corporate bowls) at Clubs and recruitment and retention initiatives to grow Bowls Membership.Off Green initiatives – Build capability in the Club system by supporting clubs to undertake the BA / CLUBMAP Club Health Check to identify areas for improvement. Support Clubs to access education, training and resources to improve their Club Administration (including attendance at Webinars and accessing the BA Resource Hub).Digital initiatives – Work with Clubs to expand their digital reach through the provision of contemporary websites, having a social media presence and increasing the utilisation of BowlsLink.Reporting against On Green, Off Green and Digital initiatives as necessary.Qualifications and Skills: The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:Outstanding customer service skills and an ability to fit in with and form effective working relationships with a varied range of groups and people.Event management experience (preferably in a sporting role).High-level communication skills – both verbal and written.Excellent time management skills, prioritising tasks to meet daily and weekly programmed activity targets or longer-term organisational objectives.Ability to deal calmly and consistently with demanding responsibilities and conflicting priorities from a range of customers and staff utilising standard negotiation and conflict resolution techniques.Advanced IT skills (Microsoft 365 suite)Accounting or book-keeping knowledge, experience in use of Xero.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Tertiary qualification in sports management or management (desirable).Alignment with BA's organisational values of CARE – Courage, Accountability, Respect and Excellence, exhibited by day-to-day TRIPLES behaviours of:Taking responsibilityRaising the bar; high standards and outcomesInnovation | Integrity | InclusionListening and learning; to "know our stuff"Enjoying our workingSpeaking up, speaking straightInteractions: You will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the BACT CEO, BACT Board, club representatives, members, fellow BA staff, contractors, and external service providers such as local government authorities, schools, and community groups.Unique Criteria: This role offers unique challenges and opportunities, including:Periods of intrastate travel to meet with stakeholders and attend/manage events.Periods of interstate travel to meet with Bowls Australia and STAs.Travel within the designated region to engage with clubs and stakeholders.Periods of remote work away from the home office.Flexible working arrangements to accommodate work/life balance and the varying needs of clubs, including the need to attend meetings outside of normal business hours.How to Apply: If you're passionate about supporting community growth and engagement through bowls and possess the necessary qualifications and skills, we'd love to hear from you.
