This is an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Leadership Team and make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.About this opportunity:The Executive Manager of Community Lifestyle provides strategic leadership for the Community Lifestyle Program, a key area within the Council dedicated to advancing social, cultural, sporting, and community initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and implementing program goals and services in alignment with Council's policies, while overseeing a skilled team to deliver high-quality, impactful services to the community.Key responsibilities of this position include managing the Community Lifestyle program and leading staff to deliver effective and efficient services that align with Council's corporate and operational goals. Working closely with the Director Community Services and Chief Executive Officer, the role will foster a performance-driven and service-oriented culture within the Community Services Department and throughout the organisation. As an active contributor to the Council's management team, the Executive Manager will promote continuous improvement and support the development of policy and strategic direction in line with Council's Corporate and Operational Plans for the Community Lifestyle Program. This position is also responsible for creating a positive, engaging environment where program staff are empowered to achieve and sustain high performance.Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:Relevant undergraduate qualification or extensive experience, with strong knowledge of Australian government policies and programs in community, cultural, and recreational areas; experience in managing these programs at local or regional levels is essential.Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills in a high-quality service environment, with the ability to adapt to changing operational needs.Strong understanding of Local Government governance, legislation, and standards.Excellent communication and networking skills, with a focus on positive negotiation and collaboration with external partners.Why work for Mackay Regional Council?Mackay Regional Council is a dynamic, progressive and financially sound local government.
