As the Executive Manager, Business Controls & Monitoring, you will lead a team of senior risk professionals to provide high quality first line risk advice to the Group Operations (GO) Leadership Team. Specifically, this role supports the Group Operations Chief Operations Office (GO COO) and the Process and Intelligent Automation Services (PIAS, aka Robotics), who are the strategic and Automation functions for Group Operations.

You'll bring significant people leadership and stakeholder expertise to the role. You'll be scaffolded, to continue building your risk and controls knowledge via our mature and experienced team, who will provide key focus on the delivery of building a strong risk culture and maturity.
We'd be thrilled to leverage your industry leadership expertise in automation, robotics and transformation mastery within a complex and regulated environment, where you'll embed new control frameworks for emerging technologies.
Key responsibilities will include: People leadership of a team of seasoned risk professionals to provide first line risk advice to the Group Operations transformation functions of GO COO and PIAS.Partner with senior stakeholders to educate, uplift and embed strong risk management practices and risk culture.Provide insights and ensure management reporting to Steering Committees, Divisional Risk and Governance Forums are transparent, timely and clear.Develop and embed new control frameworks for emerging technologies. Monitor and assess the adequacy and strength of the control environment.Advise the business on the risk transformation strategy for Group Operations through control simplification, metrics, optimisation and automation management frameworks, and ensure alignment to the Groups risk frameworks, strategy, appetite and regulatory obligations.Support programs to define and deliver risk benefits, risk assess delivery and delivered risks, supporting the GO businesses to make sound risk decisions and protect customer and organisational outcomes.Build strong and sustainable risk management practices and operating rhythm for the GO COO and RIAS Business Controls and Monitoring (BCM) team.Support capability growth for the GO BCM team in shaping the risk professional of the future.What's in it for me? This role requires a minimum of 3 days in the office to connect with colleagues.

This role will manage 6 people, and sits within a larger team of 70. With exposure to significant transformation programs, you'll be working right at the forefront of Westpac's evolution of cutting-edge automation practices for defining how we work with risk.
