Executive Level 1 - Assistant Directors, Finance, Procurement and Budget Policy
Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
Through these roles you will consolidate a credible record achievement in:
Applying whole-of government policy and frameworks
Providing procurement and grants advice including guidance that complies with departmental policies and procedures, the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework
Supporting the preparation of complex strategic policy, budget and financial management advice to portfolio Ministers, the Cabinet, and other Commonwealth agencies to inform Government decision-making and the approach to policy implementation
Effective stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
Assisting the Australian Government to consider Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio proposals in collaboration with the Department of Finance, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Treasury
Strong organisation and project management skills.
For some roles the following qualifications or specialist skills are desirable:
Qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
A Diploma / Cert IV in Procurement and Contract Management
Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of IT Systems associated with budget and procurement management (for example: SAP and CBMS).

The Policy and Programs Assistant Director will be required to manage discrete projects and initiatives.
