Executive Level 1 - Assistant Director / Health Technology Assessment Advisor - Medical Services Advisory Committee Evaluation SectionAdelaide SA, Canberra ACT, Darwin NT, Hobart TAS, Melbourne VIC, Perth WA, Sydney NSW
The EL1 Assistant Director / Health Technology Assessment Advisor (HTA) supports applications to MSAC through the HTA process via the entry of applications, liaison with applicants and assessment groups to oversee critical appraisal or development of the HTA, providing technical advice to members of MSAC and its subcommittees, development of meeting minutes and post recommendation processes. The role also supports strategic work including process documentation and improvements, liaison with policy areas, development of new methodologies in response to emerging technologies, and external collaborations including internationally. This requires a specialist skill set across a number of capability domains including policy and governance; clinical applications; critical appraisal and evidence synthesis; health economic evaluation; financial analysis and pricing; implementation; and leadership. There may be management responsibilities associated with the role including supporting the training and development of HTA capabilities in other staff members.
