Gold Coast Health delivers a broad range of secondary and tertiary health services across more than 20 facilities, including three hospitals and two health precincts.
Reporting to the Health Service Chief Executive, the Executive General Manager (EGM) represents a single point of accountability for achieving outcomes expected of the Medicine division to ensure the service group contributes to the achievement of GCHHS vision.
The role partners with the clinical leadership team in creating and managing safe, effective and sustainable services, provides high level advice to the GCHHS Executive and Board and carries a high level of autonomy and responsibility for action.
The EGM has responsibility to establish and monitor standards of performance, areas of risk and opportunity in order to achieve best practice performance and provides leadership within a culture which fosters collaboration, evidence-based decision making, research, learning and innovation.
This is a role for a strong and collaborative leader with a successful track record in leading services within a large and complex health care organisation, a strategic and comprehensive approach to planning and decision making, and demonstrated ability to manage a significant budget and a large, diverse workforce.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a broad understanding of health care issues, including the role of academic medicine with researchers, practitioners and educators.
