Hence we require a dynamic, smart, organized hotel CEO/General Manager for Ramada Hervey Bay, a regional coastal Queensland tourism destination - a major brand name hotel and resort.
The ideal candidate needs to be a mature, energetic, experienced, self-driven person with a 'self-start can-do' attitude – prepared to be somewhat 'hard-headed' to drive through to get results.
Must be experienced and focused on sales and marketing of accommodation and restaurant as well as operations and be able to clearly delegate to get results.
Must be vital, energetic, and motivated.
Must be able to clearly establish expectations with staff and all stakeholders.
The destination resort and leading corporate hotel in Hervey Bay has a number of new and exciting proposed programs to drive occupancy and rate, so our new executive GM needs to have vision as well as the ability to implement.
These innovative ideas and programs will be outlined in the interview process.
Key elements include being organized and timely on all projects, tasks, and schedules, and having a passion to ensure business and communications run smoothly.
The position requires the ability to plan, implement, and carry through the prescribed steps of overseeing marketing, operations, accounting, and administration.
Methodical and meticulous attention to detail is required.
KEY GENERAL ROLES INCLUDE Establishing a clear mandate on marketing and operations with implementation skills and drive - both for accommodation and the restaurant.Clearly seeking to understand and report on all cost benefits of actions.Task management in conjunction with the team and stakeholders.Optimisation of time management by organizing clear schedules and undertakings.Efficiently coordinating and communicating with those inside the office as well as consultants, partners, and contractors outside the office.Coordinating and communicating with key people.Following through with all stakeholders on deadlines and communicating those deadlines.Working with all wholesalers and travel.Key customer and staff management.Cost and income analysis savvy.Prepared to clearly report and account for actions.POSITION SUMMARY General manager / CEO and prime on-site motivator of an apartment hotel currently under 100 rooms (studios and suites) but to be expanded to 170 rooms with the construction of Ramada SkyHotel Stage 2 - www.skyhotel.com.au, plus Ramada Encore Whalecove of another 30 holiday apartments.
Intend specialized programs incorporating Smokey Joes Cafe Bar and Grill as well as traditional business and tourism markets.
Need to drive all aspects of occupancy, rate, and customer satisfaction.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE: All hotel and operations expected of a senior GM with a clear focus on results.Ability to clearly forward plan financial forecasts and budgets - clear cash flow planning.Oversee the administrator who has a full accounts role, BAS, general ledger management, etc.
through to liaison with external auditors and accountants.Provide client services to new and existing clients via email, phone, and face-to-face methods.Development and deployment of systems and processes for day-to-day operations.Coordinate and manage the day-to-day administration of the business.Oversee the development of the client and prospect database for accurate and efficient campaigns.Assist with marketing activities.Support the management team in all areas.Drive marketing outcomes.Work with the principals on Stage 2 Ramada SkyHotel.POSITION COMPLEXITY: Ability to establish priorities, multi-task, manage deadlines, and pre-plan additional resources.Ability to create and follow through clear staff expectations and performance.Organizing and planning multiple activities, at different stages of progress, at one time.Resolving unexpected problems.Using initiative to manage peak times and situations.Clear computer skills and time management systems.DECISION AND JUDGMENTS: Prioritizing workload.Systems and process development and implementation.In summary – In addition to the general role of GM - Planning and organizing – Initiative - Oral communications - Written communications – Flexibility - Problem analysis – Sensitivity – Impact – Decisiveness.
