The Role We are currently seeking an established Executive Director, Urban Development (ANZ), to provide leadership and strategic direction to our Urban Development business in collaboration with the wider SMEC/SJ Group strategy. This is a key leadership role within our ANZ business and has responsibility for strategy and P&L of our Urban Engineering, Surveying, Planning, and Design teams.
As Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring there is consistency and cohesion across our ANZ Urban Development business with the effect of growing the Buildings + Cities business line through optimal people, commercial, business development, client relationship management, and project performance.
Your responsibilities extend to the ongoing development, direction, and delivery of the Strategic Action Plan for the Urban Development sector. This includes organic growth, capability development, strategic partnerships, and alliances. You will be at home managing profit and loss on a global scale, ensuring capability development and mobilization of resources.
The role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane, but will require regular travel.
As an ideal candidate, you will have: 20+ years in the industry with proven success in Senior Management roles with a focus on Urban Development.Background in either engineering, surveying, planning, or landscape architecture.Established industry profile and active involvement in industry associations.Ability to establish and maintain client relationships, providing expert business development advice.Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline; postgraduate and project management qualifications highly regarded.In-depth knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and market trends globally.High level communication skills, including negotiating and resolving highly complex commercial, technical, and people matters.How to Apply All applications must be submitted online.
