The Executive Director, Policy and Regulation is a senior level position in VicGrid and at the heart of the energy transition. The position provides strategic leadership to an existing and growing team which has, among its responsibilities, the development of a new Victorian Transmission Investment Framework (VTIF), the delivery of Victorian Transmission Plans, building social licence for transmission, developing Renewable Energy Zones (REZs), and interconnector strategy.

What you will deliver
• You will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, working collaboratively with branch directors, the CEO, and others within Energy Group, DEECA and across government, to develop high quality policy and plans across a range of complex transmission areas.
• You will act as a source of high quality, authoritative and strategic advice to the minister and departmental executives on transmission and REZ policy.
• You will create and lead long term and strategic future planning to ensure the division has the capabilities, expertise, resources and organisational environment and culture to deliver its policies, program and activities.
• As a member of the senior management team of the Energy Group, you will identify emerging issues and opportunities; contribute to the setting of strategy and effective resource allocation.

What you will bring
• Significant experience of leading teams delivering major policy transformations.
• Significant experience in spatial infrastructure planning.
• Implementing complex strategies to build buy-in and support from key internal clients and external stakeholders.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, economics, environmental management or science, legal, finance, spatial infrastructure planning is desirable.

How to Apply
This is a fixed term position available on a three year (SES only) fixed term contract. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, with some overnight travel. Hybrid work arrangements available.
