With a wide range of in-hospital, aged care, community,disability and mental health services offered at multiple locationsacross the region including Mount Gambier, Bordertown, Keith,Kingston, Lucindale, Millicent, Naracoorte, and Penola, the LCLHNserves a diverse population of over 67,000 people in one of themost desirable parts of South Australia. The Role The Executive Director Medical Services position presents anunparalleled opportunity to lead and shape the future of healthcaredelivery in a vibrant regional setting, but also to influence ruralhealth care beyond the network. As the host of the largestand most specialised South Australian hospital outside of Adelaide(in Mount Gambier), the network presents a visionary medical leaderwith an opportunity to develop service and training models whichcan inform and guide clinical practice in other settings, ina range of medical specialties including Rural Generalism. Asa key member of the executive team, you will help to oversee anddrive clinical services across multiple sites, ensuring the higheststandards of patient care. You will be involved in fosteringcollaborative relationships with clinicians, stakeholders, andcommunity partners to enhance service delivery and to promoteclinical research and innovation in healthcare leadership andclinical practice. With a strong focus on quality improvement,workforce development and strategic planning, you will play apivotal role in advancing the network's mission to be atrusted leader in the delivery of progressive and consumer-directedhealthcare. This position offers a unique blend of leadership,clinical expertise, and strategic vision, making it an exceptionalopportunity for a dynamic medical leader. Opportunities existto expand the medical leadership model through the establishment ofa deputy position, and the organisation is well placed to offerspecialist training in Medical Management and Leadership(RACMA).
The Candidate The ideal candidate for the ExecutiveDirector Medical Services role will demonstrate a blend ofeffective leadership, clinical credibility, and an ability to bothmanage change in a complex setting, and be truly strategic. Youwill have a track record of inspiring and leading multidisciplinaryteams towards excellence in service delivery, teaching, trainingand research. The recruitment and retention of doctors,oversighting their clinical education, and professionaldevelopment, and contributing towards service planning and deliverywill be the principle areas of the role's focus. Yourstrategic acumen should be evident through successful initiativesthat enhance patient care, improve efficiency, and driveorganisational growth. Excellent communication and effectivestakeholder engagement abilities are essential. You should beable to demonstrate a commitment to and a deep knowledge of thenational safety and quality agenda including an ability to drivecontinuous quality improvement. A commitment to diversity,equity, and inclusion in the healthcare setting, along with strongfinancial management skills are required.
