CQ Health provides public health services across Central Queensland, in hospitals and in the community. CQ Health is a statutory body governed by our Board. About the role:The Executive Director, Medical Services (EDMS) will have a central role in the development and subsequent delivery of the Hospital and Health Service's 10-year vision and strategy. This strategy will shape the future development of clinical services across our HHS and the EDMS will provide medical leadership and advice to ELT and to the Board on its development and subsequent implementation.
Key to this element of the role will be the EDMS' ability to build excellent clinical partnerships with other HHSs, the Department of Health, private sector hospitals, and with General Practitioner (GP) and primary care colleagues across Central Queensland.
The EDMS is accountable for the professional leadership of the medical staff across all CQHHS business units. This includes providing leadership to the medical workforce supported by three Director Medical Services (DMS) roles. Working through the DMSs located in the Rockhampton, Gladstone / Banana and Central Highlands Business Units, the EDMS is to ensure that services are provided in a contemporary way, supported by good clinical evidence and that the highest professional and ethical standards are observed by all medical staff.
The engagement and morale of the medical workforce will also be critical to the success of the 10-year strategy and the EDMS will lead on medical workforce engagement and support across CQHHS.
About you:An MBBS or equivalent to enable registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).Fellowship with an Australian Medical Specialist College is mandatory.Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) is desirable for this role however not mandated.The ability to work in a clinical capacity (0.2 FTE) in your recognised specialty with the CQHHS would be desirable.Current ALS certification and enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies is mandatory.What we offer:Salary information: Base remuneration value of $304,657 - $528,432 p.a. (+ clinical / medical managers allowance) is comprised of:
