The purpose of the role is to ensure the management and delivery of services to support a myriad of the community who are victims of crime through their interaction with the criminal justice system and delivery of services in protecting vulnerable people at risk of experiencing crimes. Further, the role will oversee the implementation of strategies to support the safeguarding and protection of individuals accessing systems and processes across the organisation.

Period of AppointmentFixed Term Senior Executive appointment for a period of 5 years.
Hours per fortnight73.50 hours per fortnight- flexible options available.
DutiesThe Executive Director's key duties include:
Appointed to the statutory role of Registrar in accordance with the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 and fulfil all obligations under the legislation.Provide high level advice on a range of issues that have strategic and/or critical impact on both corporate objectives and government policy.Manage the assigned human, physical, information and financial resources of the Output in accordance with the strategic direction of the Department.Provide leadership to managers ensuring their roles are focused on delivering best practice and that management practices are in compliance with contemporary management principles including managing cultural change and that will meet the operational and strategic outcomes for the Output.Represent the Department and develop and maintain high-level stakeholder relationships with relevant bodies, unions, local, state and Commonwealth departments and authorities, and other related national and international organisations. Liaise, consult, negotiate and advocate at Senior Management level in a range of forums on complex and often sensitive issues.Lead the development, implementation, review and continuous improvement of the policy framework and programs to ensure the delivery of core functions and the achievements of outcomes to support the Government's strategic direction on services to respond, protect and support victims of crime and vulnerable persons.As a member of the Department's Senior Managers Forum, actively contribute to the overall policy development, strategic planning, effective management and future directions of the Agency.Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
Current Driver's Licence.A degree or tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline together with considerable experience at senior executive level.Pre-employment ChecksThe Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.
