Suited to a highly motivated individual with experience in artistic programming and a strong vision, this person will steer the organization towards its next chapter in the rapidly expanding community of Ellenbrook.The Executive Director is responsible for the development and advocacy of arts activities in the Ellenbrook community and is supported by our key funding partner, the City of Swan. The role is focused on forging partnerships and sourcing funding to progress the impact of Ellenbrook Arts and is responsible for overseeing the artistic direction of the program, community development, management of venues and staff, and overall steering of the organization.The Ellenbrook Cultural Foundation, trading as Ellenbrook Arts, was established in 2002, and is a not-for-profit organization that provides a range of arts and cultural programming for the enrichment of the community in Ellenbrook and the wider City of Swan region.Ellenbrook Arts aims to provide a high-quality annual program of exhibitions, cultural activities, and events that are inclusive, diverse, well planned, and delivered to professional standards. We present two signature events each year in partnership with the City of Swan; Swan Open Studios and the Ellenbrook Art Award, and a variety of visual art exhibitions from community, emerging, and established artists and collections.Ellenbrook Arts operates from two dedicated facilities, the Ellenbrook Art Gallery, also known as 'HQ', and the Grapevine Community Arts Space. These two venues function together as innovative, creative spaces for community cultural activity.The role of Executive Director operates with a high degree of autonomy in the delivery of these programs and through the effective management of the two venues. The role directly supervises two full-time staff, the Community Engagement Officer, and the Administration Assistant, as well as approximately twelve volunteers.Ellenbrook Arts is a membership-based organization and provides a range of services and benefits to its members through the gallery gift shop, exhibition program, venue hire, events, and opportunities.SELECTION CRITERIATertiary qualifications in the artsProven abilities with grant writing and fundraisingExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience with financial and budget managementAppropriate computer skills in Microsoft Office softwareExperience in leadership and managing peopleExperience working in a local government context, or knowledge of cultural planning and community consultation practicesArts venue management experience, or equivalent venue management knowledgeStrategic or governance knowledge and experience working with boards and committeesUnderstanding of non-profit business managementExperience with marketing, writing for PR and advertising, and social mediaTo apply, applicants are invited to write a one-page cover letter that describes their interest in the role, and address the Selection Criteria in a succinct two-page document.
