Swinburne University of Technology is seeking an innovative and strategic leader to join our senior leadership team as the Executive Director, Future Students and Marketing (ED, FS&M). A leader prepared to disrupt the sector and who embraces the learnings that come from failure.
In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in higher education trends, student acquisition, marketing, and digital transformation to enhance Swinburne's reputation and drive sustainable, diverse, and profitable student demand both locally and internationally.
As the ED FS&M, you will lead a high-performing, dynamic team responsible for all aspects of student recruitment, admissions, and marketing, including the custodianship of the Swinburne brand. You will ensure that Swinburne's Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Education (HE) offerings resonate strongly with prospective students, aligning with market needs and the university's strategic goals.
Your bold leadership will shape Swinburne's domestic and international student acquisition strategy, pushing the boundaries to build brand awareness, drive leads and convert interest to enrolments across various channels. You will ensure that recruitment partnerships, commercial agreements, and marketing campaigns drive the recruitment of highly qualified student cohorts.
As a senior leader, you will foster a collaborative, growth-focused culture and work closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, External Engagement to achieve Swinburne's objectives, while contributing to the university's future success. You may also deputise for the DVC EE as needed.

About YouTo be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:Proven strategic, analytical, and conceptual skills with the ability to structure and convert strategies into compelling and achievable work programs.Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in higher education marketing, recruitment, or related areas, with a track record of success in leadership roles.Strong understanding of global student recruitment trends, digital marketing, branding, and market analysis.Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategies that disrupt a market, build brand and reputation and drive student demand.Proven strategic planning skills, with an ability to conceptualise issues, understand influencing factors in service environments, develop creative solutions and plan implementation processes that deliver against set objectives.QualificationsA relevant postgraduate qualification and extensive management and leadership experience. A combination of educational experience and leadership/work experience. (The position may be filled by either an appropriately qualified and experienced academic or professional)
