Executive Director, Centre of Excellence for Healthy Aging . This is a full-time limited term position for approximately
11 months.Cape Breton University's Centre of Excellence for Healthy Aging (CEHA) is a collaborative research initiative to advance research in healthy aging and inform evidence-based healthy practices for rural, semi-rural, post-industrial, and Indigenous communities across Nova Scotia, Canada and around the world.The successful candidate will oversee the Centre's goal to create collaborative networks of researchers, practitioners, students and strategic partners to engage in health research and innovative initiatives aimed to ensure excellent quality of life for Nova Scotians as they age, and innovative approaches to address frailty and dementia.The successful candidate will also directly support CBU's overarching strategic healthcare initiative including the development of clinical research trial capacity. They will act as liaison for sponsors, applicable research ethics boards, government authorities, the CEHA Advisory committee, and CBU departments.Minimum Qualifications:3 years or more experience working in a clinical trial research setting required.Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting research and/or development in health sciences.Experience with creation and management of standard operating procedures preferred.Experience managing Health Canada regulated interventional clinical research trials considered an asset.5 years of experience managing business processes, leading improvement initiatives and overseeing teams of analysts.Leadership experience (such as in a business, organization or centre) an asset.Experience working in a university setting and providing support to students and/or faculty an asset.Experience working in a diverse multidisciplinary setting, including medical, public and private industry, and academic will be considered an asset.Application Requirements:Cover letter describing the expertise of the applicant.Complete resume.List of at least three references.Please upload all required documents to Additional Documents if no designated area is listed.
