Executive Director, Courts Programs Full-Time Permanent

ACT Courts and Tribunal is looking for a dynamic individual who, under limited supervision, will be responsible for supporting the work of the Chief Executive Officer to deliver on the strategic modernisation program for the ACT Courts and Civil and Administrative Tribunal. The successful applicant will demonstrate their ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver strategic programs. You will also demonstrate high level legal skills to provide legal advice and support on policies, proposals and significant legislation amendments to support the efficient operation of the Courts and Tribunal.
To achieve this, you must demonstrate:
Experience in providing high level advice/justice administration on complex legal and procedural matters with the ability to interpret and apply the legislation whilst balancing the competing needs of stakeholders; Your ability to drive the development and implementation of programs, practice and procedures to support innovation and change within the Courts; Your ability to proactively progress strategic projects with various levels of breadth, complexity or significance and positively influence the implementation of agreed change programmes; The ability to work together and collaborate to achieve individual, team and organisational objectives. Eligibility/Other Requirements: This position requires a degree in laws of an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas qualification, which, in the opinion of the Chief Executive Officer, is appropriate to the duties of the office. This position requires admission as a legal practitioner, however described, of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory.
At least five years post qualification practice experience in law is highly desirable. Previous experience working in a court environment is also highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Criminal History check.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
