Please note that all IFAs are reviewed annually in accordance with the IFA policy and are not ongoing.What you will do as the Executive Director, Competition Advocacy Provide leadership on competition advocacy across for the Competition Division and the ACCC more broadly, including by leading aspects of the Competition Division's delivery of outputs and outcomes under the ACCC's Corporate Plan and annual Compliance and Enforcement Policy and Priorities, including through leading work in annual priority areas by applying principles-based competition policy and law framework to address emerging and complex issues.Prepare and deliver an agency wide three-year competition advocacy plan, which will include:identifying and responding to current domestic and international competition issuesleveraging off investigations and outcomes to enhance competition law complianceengaging with other opportunities to enhance Australia's competition law framework and competition law compliance.Lead the preparation of ACCC submissions on competition-related issues to various public inquiries as well as to international bodies such the International Competition Network and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.Provide leadership and professional development to a team of skilled professional staff, role modelling our leadership behaviours, supporting a professional and collaborative working environment, coaching, giving continuous feedback, resolving conflict and facilitating career development and contribute to the leadership of the Branch and Division.About You In order to succeed in the role, you will have:A strong and demonstrated understanding of the competition provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other relevant legislation.Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as economics, law or similar fields.Experience in successfully and autonomously planning, leading and managing advocacy or engagement activities, investigations or analysis of complex competition law issues, ensuring investigations are undertaken with established investigative principles.Demonstrated ability to lead objective and systematic analysis to support evidence-based decision making (ideally in matters involving competition law analysis).Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate effectively.Demonstrated ability to engage effectively and work cohesively with internal and external partners and stakeholders.Demonstrated leadership, providing direction, identifying development needs and opportunities, coaching staff including experience in delivering regular and appropriate feedback to build strong, high performing teams.The Following Job Specific Criteria Are Also Highly Desirable Certificate IV and Diploma in Government Investigations.
