The Opportunity

WCHN is seeking to appoint an Executive Director Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing. As a core member of the Executive team, the Executive Director contributes to network-wide planning and leadership, influencing health reforms at the state level. Working with governmental and non-governmental entities to promote, maintain, and restore the health of women, babies, children, young people and their families.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director will lead the initiation, development and implementation of the WCHN Strategic priority of Meaningful Gains in Aboriginal Health impacting all areas of WCHN business. As a system leader across South Australia this role will ensure that clinical services within and outside WCHN deliver effective and culturally appropriate care for Aboriginal women, babies, children, young people and their families.

This role holds cultural and operational accountability for Aboriginal health and wellbeing services and service planning across WCHN's multiple sites.

Key responsibilities for the Executive Director will include:
Implementing health outcome initiatives from the SA Health Aboriginal Health Care Framework 2023-2031 and WCHN Aboriginal Health Plan 2024-2028 .Promoting community involvement and partnerships with Aboriginal people, families and communities.Enhancing Aboriginal workforce development.Improving access to health services.Implementing programs focused on the health and well-being of Aboriginal women, babies, children, young people and their families.The Executive Director will play a key role in fostering a collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, including the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, WCHN staff, and community members.

About You

As the Executive Director, Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing, you will lead with passion and purpose, driving initiatives to elevate the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities in
South Australia. We are looking for an experienced Senior Leader with an understanding of health issues facing the sector and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait community.

You will bring:
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and planning skills with a focus on social, health and wellbeing.Strong connections within the Aboriginal community where you are recognised for your strong leadership and ability to influence change.Demonstrated ability to consult effectively with stakeholders, motivate and develop staff, and drive accountability.Experience with financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and expenditure monitoring.If you are looking for your next Executive role and would like to have a confidential discussion, please reach out to Yasmine Johnson 0420 691 100 or Pippa Wanganeen (****** )
