About the Role: The Executive Director, Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing is a member of the Executive Leadership team and will help transform our services to address health equity and improve the lives of Aboriginal people through building strong partnerships and designing more culturally safe services. The Director elevates the focus on Aboriginal expertise to drive shared decision-making and innovative collaborations and informs and leads how MLHD engages with our local Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. Key Responsibilities: Lead the teamProvide leadership, direction and guidance to the Chief Executive, the Executive Leadership Team and other key stakeholders within the LHD and region, in relation to strategic priorities for Aboriginal Health. Support the development and implementation of culturally acceptable plans, policy, services and programs which are effective in achieving positive health and wellbeing outcomes for local Aboriginal people and communities. Strategy and PlanningLead implementation of state guidelines, programs, and priorities; balancing the use of evidence-based approaches with innovative solutions which work with local communities; and ensuring that programs and models of service delivery represent industry best practice. Safety and PeopleLead and manage processes which monitor and evaluate services and programs and measure Aboriginal and population health outcomes against agreed National, State and Local indicators, ensuring that these processes inform the development of activity across the LHD, and recommend actions which support continuous improvement. Efficiency ImprovementOversee and monitor expenditure, revenue and activity to ensure efficient, effective and sustainable service delivery occurs within allocated budget and delegation.
