With breathtaking waterfront views and a focus on fresh, local produce, TARRA offers an elevated dining experience, where the joy of sharing good food meets the beauty of the Bellarine Peninsula.Our team is growing, and we are looking for a talented Executive Chef to join us in our kitchen at TARRA Queenscliff - our beachside restaurant at the Queenscliff Ferry Terminal, where the sea breeze and community spirit infuse everything we do. This role is wide and varied, offering the chance to work across our hospitality offerings, including beachside dining, onboard and onshore café options, grab-and-go food, and event catering.The opportunityIf you're a passionate & talented Executive Chef and you're looking for a unique work environment where you can have the balance you're seeking – we're ready to offer no late nights, no split shifts, and a rotating roster in which you only need to work 80hrs a fortnight!We have a state-of-the-art, brand-new kitchens overlooking Port Phillip Bay just waiting for you to design and offer the best of local produce to our onboard kiosks, cafes ashore and our incredible event spaces.This exceptional full-time position represents an opportunity to play a key role in a collaborative, supportive team. Never a dull moment, this broad, hands-on position reports to the General Manager of Hospitality and will see you focused on a range of duties including but not limited to:Play a pivotal role in the launch of our new venue at Sorrento ferry terminal.Hire and build your team.Mentor and lead professional kitchen staff.Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure quality control of all food served.Supervise staff and arrange training and development opportunities.Create seasonally inspired menus to service TARRA, onshore cafes, on-board kiosks, conferences and events.Manage cost control and budgeting effectively.Maintain a thorough knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.About youYou will be a passionate, creative team player who loves the tourism and hospitality industries. With prior experience as an Executive / Head Chef in high-caliber venues, you're not only an exceptional chef at the top of your game but also a strong manager.
