EXECUTIVE CHEF - Events, Functions, Weddings, Corporate Events Join our dynamic culinary team as the Events Executive Chef overseeing a bustling kitchen that caters to a diverse range of events, functions, weddings, and corporate gatherings.
The Events team is situated in Hamilton Island and not only provides our own stunning venues but also caters to various locations across the island, committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences and culinary excellence that leave a lasting impression to our guests, we pride ourselves on our ability to transform any event into a memorable occasion.

Your Role You will be responsible for delivering a dining experience that exceeds the expectations of the guests while achieving operational and financial objectives, including: Leading the Events Kitchen team in creating and executing menus for events, functions, weddings, and corporate gatherings varying in size Collaborating with event planners and clients to design customized menus that meet their preferences and dietary requirements while balancing guest satisfaction, cost effectiveness and resourcing constraints.
Managing the kitchen operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting.
Understanding various components of the P&L report and suggesting insights into the financial health of the business, identify areas of strength and weakness, and make informed decisions to improve performance and profitability.
These culinary experiences include a large variety of events ranging from barbeque stations, street parades, cooking lessons and master classes to triathlons, Hamilton Island Race Week, The Great Barrier Feast and more!
This role is a full-time position living on the stunning Hamilton Island.

To be successful in the role you will need: Leadership skills – Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing a large team.
The ability to inspire and motivate team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, is crucial.
Culinary experience - Demonstrated experience in a large volume venue with variety of cuisines.
Adaptability - The ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, responding effectively to challenges and changes.
Flexibility in managing unexpected situations is crucial in the high-pressure setting.
Communication skills – Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both with the team and guests.
You will also have: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Essential) Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Essential) Current valid Drivers Licence (Essential)Restricted Drivers Authority or abilitiy to obtain (Valid Drivers licence and at least 3 years clean driving record) (Essential) Minimum 5 years' experience in Head Chef positionThorough knowledge and experience of volume production Demonstrated proficiency in IT systems, Microsoft Word, Excel or equivalent for kitchen management Your Benefits Subsidised (Salary Sacrifice) furnished single staff accommodation Staff perks - discounts on venues, retail, activities, subsidised staff café and $15 pw gym membership!
