To provide high level executive support to the Mayor and Councillors to assist them in fulfilling their obligations under the Local Government Act 2020.
What you'll be doing: Provide executive support to the Mayor including diary and office management, reviewing and drafting correspondence and other executive support activities. Coordinate the Civic Events schedule, collaborating with key stakeholders across the organisation to deliver within adopted budgets. In conjunction with the Department of Home Affairs to coordinate the effective delivery of Citizenship Ceremonies. Support Councillors' professional development by actively promoting learning opportunities, sector engagement and understanding of legislative obligations; and assisting in the coordination and administration of training programs. Maintain confidentiality at all times, building trusting relationships with the Council and Executive Leadership Team. Proactively support Mayor and Councillors through high level meeting management; ensuring appropriate briefings, documentation, and stakeholder guidance is provided in advance of meetings. The skills and experience you'll bring to the role: Exceptional organisation skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of work, take confident control of operations, draft clear correspondence, and use good judgement to support informed decisions. A proactive and highly developed customer service mindset with the ability to establish effective relationships under pressure and engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, to effectively engage in person, over the phone, or virtually. Demonstrated experience in the use of the Microsoft suite range of products to an intermediate or advanced level. Office organisation ability including capacity to establish and maintain appropriate procedures and systems seeking ways to improve and innovate. Experience working autonomously to deliver high quality administrative support essential. Required Certifications & Qualifications Relevant Qualifications in Administration or Business Management and substantial experience in the provision of executive and/or high-level administrative support.
