Join our team at John Hunter Hospital as an Executive Assistant, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Director/Head of Department, Dr. Neil Spratt, and Dr. Carlos Garcia-Esperon in delivering exceptional care to our stroke patients. Not only will you provide crucial assistance to our dedicated nursing staff, but you'll also handle a variety of administrative tasks essential to the smooth operation of our department. About the role: From managing busy diaries to arranging appointments, drafting patient correspondence, preparing meeting agendas, and taking meticulous minutes, you'll be at the heart of our operations. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with our wider neurology team, expanding your skills and contributing to our broader healthcare mission.
In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of Monday to Friday working hours, with the possibility of negotiation with working hours 07:30-16:00 . While the demands may be challenging, they're equally rewarding and intellectually stimulating. Where you'll be working: The Stroke Service resides within the Neurology Department. This Department provides inpatient and outpatient care, that includes both diagnosis and treatment of disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. Common conditions include:
Stroke Epilepsy Motor Neuron Disease Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease Many other less common disorders of the nervous system can also be diagnosed and treated by our specialists.
The NSW Government has committed $835 million to redevelop the John Hunter and John Hunter Children's Hospital. The John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct project will deliver an innovative and integrated precinct with industry-leading facilities. The project will work in collaboration with health, education, and research partners to meet the current and future needs of the greater Newcastle, Hunter New England, and Northern NSW regions.
