The Place and Community directorate has responsibility for a diverse range of services, including: Community Planning and Engagement Recreation Facilities and Services Economic Development and Tourism Emergency Management Strategic and Statutory Planning and Building Regulatory Services The Opportunity: As the Executive Assistant Place and Community, you will support the General Manager in managing priorities, communications, and operations while ensuring smooth coordination within the Place and Community Directorate.
Based in Bairnsdale, this full-time, limited tenure role offers the chance to work closely with a variety of stakeholders, internal teams, and community members to achieve key objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary liaison for the General Manager, managing inquiries and priorities.
Oversee and coordinate the General Manager's calendar, task lists, and meeting schedules.
Prepare high-quality correspondence, reports, and briefing documents.
Support directorate initiatives and provide administrative oversight for key projects.
What We're Looking For (Key Selection Criteria): Qualifications and demonstrable knowledge of secretarial and administrative support experience at a senior level.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide a professional, courteous and effective public interface within the organisation.
Demonstrated evidence of self-motivation, use of initiative and ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrated research skills to ensure all relevant information is provided on a timely basis.
Superior ability to organise work and meet strict deadlines.
A current, valid Victorian driver's licence.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and you must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
