Your Opportunity:We are now looking for a full-time Executive & Media Assistant based in Tenterfield, NSW.
Your primary responsibility will be providing high-level administrative support to the General Manager, Mayor, and Councillors, while also managing media relationships and overseeing council communications. In this role, you will provide executive assistance to the General Manager and Mayor, managing their correspondence, public inquiries, and diary arrangements. You will be responsible for coordinating travel, conferences, and civic receptions, as well as liaising with Councillors regarding their attendance at functions and council events. Key tasks include preparing business papers, taking minutes, managing committee meetings, and developing media releases while fostering media relations. Additionally, you will oversee the council's website and social media platforms, prepare reports, conduct research, and manage the council's community newsletter and promotional content. You will also monitor and maintain council records, ensuring confidentiality, and ensuring compliance with workplace health, safety, and equal employment standards.
You'll be great in this role because:To qualify, you will need previous experience working in a similar role or a media communication role. A minimum of three years' experience providing administrative support to senior management and/or committees will be considered essential. Previous local government experience will be well regarded though is not considered essential.
Candidates who possess a Certificate IV in Administration or other formal qualifications in business will also be held in high regard.
