APS 5 - $81,690 - $89,615 per annum plus superannuation AGVET Chemicals, Fisheries, Forestry & Engagement Division Canberra, ACT Who we are
The Agvet Chemicals, Fisheries, Forestry and Engagement Division develops and implements policies that support continual improvement and innovation in managing and regulating Agvet chemicals, fisheries and forestry. The division engages with a wide range of stakeholders throughout Australia and internationally. The division delivers strategic policy advice and reform, delivers grants and industry assistance programs, undertakes legislative reform and plays a leading role in international negotiations.
The Job
The duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Managing day-to-day correspondence and exercising discretion with access to and the dissemination of information. Providing diary management including monitoring, responding to, and disseminating electronic mail in a timely manner. Preparing and managing travel arrangements including preparing, editing, and distributing itineraries and coordinating tours for internal and external visitors and delegations. Organising travel, including booking flights, accommodation and transport, accounts payable and credit card reconciliation. Responding to and addressing priorities and drafting correspondence. Providing secretariat services as required for committees, meetings, and business continuity management exercises, including preparing agendas. Coordinating briefing responses and input to national requests, as required, on behalf of the division. Liaising with divisional staff to ensure a manageable flow of work and effective communication. Actively engaging the executive assistant network, offering constructive feedback and supporting colleagues within the division and department. Providing mentoring and guidance to junior team members within the Executive Support office. Promoting the APS Values and the department's Core 4 values and behaviours. Fostering a culture of safety, diversity, inclusiveness, positive attendance, and high performance. Please note that the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.
What are we looking for Knowledge and experience
Demonstrated experience in managing a Senior Executive office in the public or private sector or providing high-level administrative support in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
