JLD Body Building are looking for a Workshop Manager to join our team in a permanent full-time position focusing on trailer and truck builds. The Workshop undertakes a diverse range of high-quality trailers designed to meet the needs of various industries, including mining, construction, and transportation.
About the role Monday to Thursday; 6.00am to 4.30pm – Friday 6.00am to 3.00pm - Some Saturday Work depending on demand.Based in Hazelmere.Lead a team of mechanical fitters, fabricators, trade assistance and apprentices to achieve heavy equipment builds and trailer builds.Highly competitive salary and annual bonus.About you 3-5 years' experience in a similar roleRelevant Trade CertificateProven experience in the mechanical fit out and fabrication of trailers and trucks.Ensuring a safe workplace is maintained and personnel are trained/supported and competentCoordinate the builds, to optimise workable times and minimise turn-around timeDuties & Responsibilities Supervise production and workshop activities, ensuring all work is performed to a high standard and in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.Facilitate daily production and pre-start meetings.Ensure that all employees comply with current safety policies and procedures.Support a performance-based culture and actively implement the company performance review process.Act as first point of contact for employee queries, clarifications and direction of work priorities.Provide assistance to the Operations Manager and liaise with other departments.Leadership & Development: You'll mentor and support our fantastic team, using your leadership skills to drive performance and cultivate a collaborative work environment.
Day-to-Day Management: Oversee the daily workshop operations, including work allocation, monitoring lead times, and ensuring seamless communication between staff and customers.Customer Interaction: Build a reputable customer service experience by addressing client needs and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.Innovative Solutions: Understand our products, seek opportunities to enhance and expand them, and bring fresh ideas to improve the workshop's efficiency and output.Project Management: Manage project scheduling, provide updates at production meetings, and ensure projects meet deadlines.Key Requirements: People Management Skills: Strong leadership, with at least 5 years of team management experience.Customer Service: Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.Body Building Knowledge: Experience in truck body building and trailer fit-outs is essential.Solution-Oriented: A proactive problem-solver with a strong ability to identify and implement improvements.Organisational Skills: Highly organised, with strong administrative and time-management abilities.WA Driver's License is required.Employee benefits: Refer-A-Friend program, earn up to $3K per successfully placed referralOngoing career development opportunities - Challenge.
