About Us:
Join our dedicated team at a community focused, not-for-profit childcare centre in the beautiful region of Kununurra, WA. We are an 84-place service, committed to providing exceptional early childhood and care, nurturing growth and development of every child.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead our team and drive the strategic vision of our organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, exceptional leadership and management skills, and a comprehensive understanding of grant applications, funding processes and financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring high-quality care and education for all children. Lead and mentor a team of dedicated professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Develop, drive and implement strategic plans to achieve the organisation's goals and objectives. Manage the organisation's finances, including budgeting, financial reporting and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. Identify and pursue grant opportunities, prepare and submit grant applications, and manage funded projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with families, staff, community partners, and other stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in Early Childhood Education and Care. Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior management role within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector. Strong knowledge of grant applications, funding processes, and financial management. Experience with a not-for-profit management or committees. Exceptional leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Sound understanding of relevant regulations and standards in Early Childhood Education and Care. Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children and their families. Qualifications and Experience:
Holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care or Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) Holds a First Aid Certification and WA WWCC Has previous experience working in a management role in the sector (minimum 2 years) Demonstrates skill in managing and leading a diverse staff team, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion Knowledge in grant funding/applications and financially proficient What We Offer:
