My client, a leading non-profit organization in North Queensland, is seeking a Senior Practitioner to support the ROSA and Bridge programs in Townsville. This role provides therapeutic services to children, young people, and families, including those impacted by trauma and vulnerabilities. Reporting to the Program Manager, this position focuses on high-quality program delivery, client stability, and effective support for team members.
You will manage a small caseload of children aged 5 - 18 years to assist them in healing from the impact of abuse or neglect. You will provide support for carers, and assist the program manager with eligibility screening, intakes, waitlisting, and compliance. This role also offers high-level support to the Manager, including mentoring team members in practice development, case conceptualization, and service delivery to meet organizational goals.
Department Overview:
The Bridge and ROSA program suite provides two streams:
ROSA (Counselling and Intervention): Offers therapeutic support to children under 18 in statutory intervention, focusing on placement stability and family support, with Outreach Placement Support for transitions from residential care. Bridge Program: Delivers early intervention for vulnerable families through parenting education and in-home support. Key Responsibilities:
Client Support & Case Management : Provide therapeutic support and case management for children and families, particularly complex ROSA clients. Conduct risk assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress. Leadership & Staff Mentorship : Mentor and support team members, providing guidance on case management and best practices. Assist with staff induction, case conceptualization, and professional development. Community Collaboration : Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaborative, responsive service delivery. Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with cultural sensitivity. Program Development & Compliance : Support program planning, eligibility screening, and compliance reporting. Contribute to service improvement, ensuring trauma-informed, evidence-based practices. Benefits:

Essential : Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field with 3+ years of therapeutic experience. Key Skills : Knowledge of child protection, trauma-informed practice, and strong communication skills. Cultural Awareness : Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues and ability to engage respectfully. Leadership : Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide staff independently.
