Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Administration Officer with a strong background in freight, transport, and logistics. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a deep understanding of inbound and outbound orders. This role requires the ability to read and interpret manifests, track and chase consignments, and ensure smooth coordination of freight operations. A valid forklift license is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative support to the logistics and transport teams, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Accurately read and interpret manifests and shipping documentation to track consignments. Obtain, chase, and monitor consignments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise. Manage inbound and outbound orders, ensuring they are processed correctly and on time. Work closely with freight providers, suppliers, and other external partners to ensure the smooth flow of goods. Maintain records of shipments, deliveries, and other logistics-related data. Handle high-pressure situations and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines. Assist with inventory control and stock management. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the safe operation of forklifts. Communicate effectively with all departments and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in administration within the freight, transport, or logistics industry. Strong knowledge of freight, transport, and logistics processes, including inbound and outbound orders. Ability to read and understand manifests and shipment documentation. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to chase consignments and liaise with suppliers, drivers, and customers. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Valid forklift license is required. Desirable Skills: Experience with logistics management software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Knowledge of customs and import/export regulations (if applicable).
