The role
We're seeking expressions of interest from energetic and sports motivated individuals looking to join our sports team at UniActive on a casual basis, specifically with knowledge of basketball.
Our Sports Officers facilitate sports programs, holiday programs and umpire sports competitions under direction of the UniActive Sports Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver enthusiastic and engaging customer service, with ability to communicate across a diverse audience.
Facilitate and manage all programs closely to ensure rules are adhered to.
Mediate any matters arising during game play and programs.
Record all necessary information (scores, baskets, fouls, etc.)
and secondary reports (incidents, injuries, or complaints) and submit to the Sports Manager at the end of every shift.
Maintain positive relationships with all user groups and members.
Assist in the development of new sports programs.
Always maintain a safe environment for UniActive stakeholders.

Requirements
Experience officiating, playing and/or coaching sporting competitions, with a focus on basketball.
Officiating qualifications are highly regarded.
Comprehensive knowledge of various sports and rules of play is required.
Confidence and ability to make quick decisions, and be skilled in conflict resolution.
Excellent communication skills to the individual level as well as to large groups.
Demonstrated knowledge of WHS practices and guidelines.
Availability, including weekdays, weekends, evenings and holiday periods.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.

This role is covered by the Pulse UniActive Enterprise Agreement 2018, and has a casual hourly rate of $35.35 ($28.28 base rate + 25% casual loading).
