About the position Reporting to the Lead - Events, this position is responsible for supporting, coordinating and elevating Councils' varied and diverse event calendar. The role will also include assisting with the event sponsorship and activation programs to bring exciting major events into our City.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
•              Some experience in event / project coordination with multiple moving parts
•              Experience in events, public relations, or marketing 
•              Experience managing various projects simultaneously
•              Enjoy working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
•              Hold a current Driver's Licence
It is essential that the successful applicant has a current DHS Working with Children check or the willingness to obtain one.
Responsibilities Your main responsibilities will include support and assistance in executing the operational aspects, and creative components for Council's high-profile events and contribute to the development of sponsored, partnered and official events. We'd love you to bring your creative ideas and suggest new, innovative ways we can deliver our events program to our community and expand on how other departments and community groups can be involved.
Support the evaluation of our events, including participant feedback and improvements to help us improve our customer experience.
Coordinate the engagement of contractors, suppliers, performers and artists involved in the delivery of the event.
Key responsibilities are:
Assist with the development and theming of the Events and Activation program, including all activation, attraction and sponsorship events.Support delivery of events and allocated duties in a timely, cost effective and well-coordinated manner.As directed, provide advice and support for other organisational events.Deliver Council's Citizenship Ceremonies and other official events in a well-coordinated and professional mannerAssisting political and corporate stakeholders in the participation of Council and sponsored events.Assist with the delivery of the Events and Activation program marketing and communications plans, including website updates.Deliver Official Events, such as Council projects and Citizenship CeremoniesEvents Officer - Position Description About youCreative with innovative thinking and a practical approach to problem solving and negotiation.Exceptional planning and prioritising skills and meeting competing deadlines. Excellent administrative skills with a high level of organisation using initiative and working with minimum supervision.Stakeholder liaison and professional communication skillsProject and contractor coordination acumenExperience with events and project planningBe willing to undergo a pre-employment medical and police checkHave a current DHS Working with Children check or the willingness to obtain one Salary range is between $81,312 - $87,253 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
