Events Manager

As the Events Manager at the Port City Bowling Club, you will be responsible for organising and delivering a diverse range of events and functions.
The working structure will be negotiated with the successful applicant with a start date in the new year, starting and finishing times and days off will fluctuate with demand.
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the event planning process from start to finish.
The Role: Starting with a clean slate within a multi-million-dollar renovation you will work closely with the senior management team to create packages, exceed customer expectations and ensure operational success.Developing a client base and turning leads into paid events.Co-ordinate all logistical elements of events, including setups to client specification, catering, entertainment, and audio-visual equipment.Lead, guide and train your team in the delivery of exceptional service.Provide hands-on assistance with support of a small team.Oversee the execution of events to ensure they run smoothly, including set up, clearing and set down of rooms.Building and maintaining relationships with Chefs, Senior Management and Duty Managers to ensure cohesiveness.Critiquing the success of events, providing feedback and looking for ways to improve the customer experience.Skills and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in Tourism, Hospitality and/or Event Management (desirable).Exposure to busy and diverse function types including but not limited to weddings, wakes, parties, preferably within the hospitality industry (preferably 3+ years).Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure to competing and conflicting timelines.Strong communication and soft skills to effectively liaise with clients, fellow staff and contractors.Ability to think outside the square and problem-solving skills to resolve issues on the go.Proficiency in use of technology especially the Microsoft Office suite of products and function booking platforms.A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality events.Outgoing personality capable of building rapport with a variety of clientele.Responsible Service of Alcohol accreditation (required).What's in it for you: 25% Staff Discount on food and beverage within the Club.Supplied uniforms.Excellent remuneration package with 5 weeks annual leave.Ongoing training and exposure to industry events.Opportunity for growth and progression.Free onsite parking.This is a role that will allow you an opportunity to grow and develop your skills in an environment that values and supports all our staff.
