About the role: As the Events Lead, you will work closely with and report to the Events & Activations Manager to develop a robust events strategy that enhances team, customer, and supplier engagement, creates positive brand sentiment, and delivers commercial outcomes.
This role forms part of the Bunnings Events team in Corporate Affairs and will contribute to organising, project managing, and executing Bunnings corporate events across Australia and New Zealand, including Bunnings Trade Expos, along with numerous supplier and team events throughout the calendar year.
The Events Lead has two direct reports and will deliver compelling and engaging events to support the business agenda of team, supplier, retail, and commercial customer engagement.
Note: This role works across both Australia and New Zealand and will be required to perform regular work out of hours. Domestic and international travel will be required. What's involved: Develop and implement strategy/plan for events.Effectively project manage events as directed by the Events & Activation Manager.Work with the Events team on setting objectives with a focus on evaluation for continual innovation, cost reduction, and continued success of all events undertaken.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external event management/agency providers to deliver cost-effective, integrated, and value events.Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and agencies to ensure successful evolution and implementation of all Bunnings events and programs end-to-end.Ensure delivery of all activities in line with Bunnings' brand strategies.Ensure consistency and best practice execution of all Bunnings events.Deliver projects and support activities on time and within budget, including all scheduling and reporting as required.Conduct all tasks and activities in accordance with all applicable laws including Trade Practices Law.Identify reputational risks, including keeping them informed of relevant issues and developing responses as required.You'll need: Tertiary degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, PR, or related discipline preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in events management within a national corporate, retail business, or agency environment (experience in exhibitions is preferred).Leadership and team management experience, leading small teams in a similar environment.Experience in event management software Events Air (preferred).Ability to translate strategy into outcomes.Expertise in project management, stakeholder management, event logistics, and decision-making processes.Strong focus on quality and attention to detail delivered in a fast-paced environment.Experience and understanding of issues and crisis management processes.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.Expertise in agency management and ability to develop and maintain mutually respectful partnerships with suppliers.Proven ability to identify potential reputational risks.We're here to support you.
