About the opportunityAn exciting opportunity exists for a talented and dedicated individual to join the Marketing Team at the Independent Hardware Group which includes the Mitre10 and Home Hardware brands.
We are passionate about creating high-quality experiences for our independent Members, Suppliers and Staff, and we're seeking an enthusiastic team member to oversee the planning and execution of our events while also playing an important role in the growth of the business.
Reporting into the Communications and Engagement Manager, this role will deliver the National Expo, being held in Adelaide in 2025 and 2026 for up to 2000 delegates, and the annual Victorian Trade Expo.
This includes stakeholder management, venue liaison, award program management, promotions, communications, and operational matters.
Lets Talk About youProven experience with end-to-end events delivery, communications strategies, and projects, bringing strong contextual awareness and ensuring alignment with organisational purpose and goals.Exceptional organisational and admin skills with a proven ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks, with strong attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to establish and maintain effective and safe working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Strategic planning skills with the ability to prioritise effectively, set goals and high standards of performance, and be accountable for delivering on competing expectations, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and guidelines, on time and within budget.Demonstrated ability to prepare communications materials for internal and external audiences using clear, concise and grammatically correct language, ensuring they contain the information necessary to achieve their purpose and meet audience needs.
This includes correspondence, submissions, speeches, newsletter articles, presentations and briefing documents for producing video, photography and live streams.Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience in providing sound analysis and advice to inform and shape policy and programs relevant to events and awards.Proven experience in managing event budgets, invoice tracking, and reconciliation.Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WH&S) regulations, with hands-on experience in implementing and overseeing safety procedures for events.You're Likely a Match If You haveAn events professional with experience planning and delivering complex awards and events.A team player who can build and maintain strong, productive relationships.Looking for a challenge, variety and flexibility.To be successful in this role you will have strong event management, project management, relationship building and influencing skills.
