About the Hotel:
Novotel Wollongong Northbeach is an award winning venue located just steps from the beach. The hotel has undergone a major transformation with multiple outlets and entertainment facilities under the one roof, and is one of the premium locations for accommodation, weddings, events and dining in the Illawarra. The hotel has 209 accommodation rooms, 5 food and beverage outlets and multiple event spaces offering incredible views and amazing experiences.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and organised Events Coordinator to join our team. As the Events Coordinator, you will be the driving force behind unforgettable events, from corporate conferences to gala dinners & social events. You'll work closely with clients, ensuring every detail is perfect and every expectation is exceeded. Your organizational skills will shine as you coordinate logistics, collaborate with vendors, and support our events team. Previous experience in hospitality or events, as well as a genuine enthusiasm for creating outstanding guest experiences, are essential.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with clients to understand their event needs and preferences. Coordinate all aspects of the event including food and beverage selection, entertainment, decorations, and any additional requirements. Communicate effectively with vendors, internal departments, and clients to ensure seamless event execution. Build Banquet Event Orders and Floor Plans for each event to be distributed internally to all departments. Complete P&L for each event to provide with end of month reporting. Act as the main point of contact during events, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise. Evaluate the success of each event and provide recommendations for improvement. About you: Previous experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in the hospitality industry. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure. Creative thinker with a passion for creating memorable experiences. Be available for events as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment. Previous experience with Opera and/or Delphi desirable but not essential.
