This is a unique chance to be part of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, supporting the delivery of the Sydney Royal Arts & Crafts Competitions & Events for the 2025 Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Join our vibrant, committed team in delivering one of Australia's largest annual events, engaging with exhibitors, patrons, and the wider community.
Position Purpose As an Events and Administration Assistant, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Sydney Royal Arts & Crafts Competition.
You will work closely with the Events Manager and contribute to a wide range of tasks that are integral to the event's success.
This contract role will run through May 2025, including key pre-Show, Show, and post-Show periods.
Key Responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service by managing and addressing Exhibitor concerns promptly.
Perform office administration, including word processing, organising invitations, maintaining spreadsheets, updating presentations, and proofreading Competition materials.
Handle data entry for awards, sales, and exhibitor records, and ensure timely notifications.
Respond to enquiries, escalating or redirecting issues as needed.
Assist in physical tasks related to event setup and teardown, including handling exhibits, tables, and other display items.
Manage sales and transactions during the Arts Preview Evening and Show period, including cash handling, EFTPOS, and register operations.
Demonstrate strong character, organisational skills, and work habits to set a positive example.
Support the Events Manager and team to ensure effective event delivery.
Key Dates Show Period: 11 – 22 April 2025 Bump-In & Exhibitor Deliveries: 24 – 29 March 2025 Judging & Bump-In: 31 March – 1 April 2025 Arts Preview Evening: 9 April 2025 (10 AM – 10 PM) Perishable Cooking Live Judging: 11 April 2025 Bump-Out & Exhibitor Collections: 23 – 27 April 2025 What we're looking for Qualifications: Relevant experience or qualification in administration, event management, or hospitality is preferred, along with an appreciation for Arts & Crafts.
Experience: Background in events, administration, or hospitality, with proven multitasking, customer service, and cash handling skills.
Skills: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
