As Event Planner – Social & Corporate, you will provide support to the sales and events team in planning social events and corporate functions, coordination with hotel operations, and client liaison before, during, and after each meeting and/or event.
Your day-to-day Guest Experience Deliver to Crowne Plaza Meeting Success hallmarks. Ensure that all client requirements at point of confirmation are handed over to an assigned Crowne. Ensure client feedback is communicated and acted upon internally and manage resolution of any issues with the client within 48 hours. Understand competitors' product and service delivery. Support sales initiatives for each property with client entertainment, familiarizations, and other events that form part of the sales and marketing plan. Develop and maintain strong relations with stakeholders whose support, cooperation, and services are critical to the success of sales. Communicate client requirements and other relevant account/segment information to all relevant departments to ensure their expectations are exceeded. Act as a trusted business advisor and champion by clients; ensure that commitments are met and value is delivered. Financial At all times, understand the client's needs while optimizing hotel revenue through strategic yield management and up-selling of hotel facilities or services. Follow up with clients to obtain event feedback and identify further business opportunities. Keep abreast of competitor activities to ensure our product and services are ahead of competition. Manage, maintain, and update the meeting database. In conjunction with the Crowne Meetings Director, understand long-range forecast of the business and what tactical measures and pricing strategies are required to meet budgeted revenue targets. Demonstrate understanding of client needs while optimizing hotel revenue through yield management and up-selling of hotel facilities and services. Report monthly on activities and conversions against targets. People Actively participate in all training sessions and ensure that any pre and post-course work is completed by the due date. Ensure active management of individual GAPs and personal development plans. Proactively manage key relationships with GMs, Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, National Sales, and other areas to ensure alignment across the region driving regular communication. What we need from you Bachelor's degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in marketing or related field. Two to four years of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Sound knowledge of sales principles and techniques. Strong understanding of all aspects of new business hunting and strategies for key account management.
