As part of our Strategy & Communications group, the Events and Engagement Specialist is responsible for planning and managing Saab's involvement in exhibitions, managing major employee events and supporting customer and business to business engagement activities.
You will develop and implement plans that are aligned with Saab's business strategy and promote Saab's capabilities, people and brand to customers and partners.
The Events and Engagement Specialist is a highly organised communications professional capable of managing diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Further, the successful candidate will:
Manage all aspects of Saab's involvement in Australian exhibitions and trade events including stand design and staffing, freight, travel, export approvals etc.
Manage the events and exhibitions budget, including forecasts, tracking, reporting and ongoing maintenance of records.
Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to support the successful delivery of events.
Liaise with sales and marketing and exhibitions staff in other Saab global business units to maintain awareness of opportunities and capabilities.
Collaborate with Business Support Services and People and Culture to plan and manage engaging employee events that keep the Saab workforce informed and build employee pride.
Support key customer and partner briefings, visits and tours at Saab sites.
Build and manage relationships with senior management.
Engage key stakeholders and be the key liaison with technical staff to capture marketing data and develop demonstration systems for customer exhibitions and trade shows.
Develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders including Saab's four Australian business lines, global business areas and units.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
Demonstrated experience planning and coordinating company exhibits.
Highly developed stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior diverse stakeholders including senior business leaders.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate messages.
Proven capabilities in managing multiple projects simultaneously, working autonomously and consistently meeting deadlines.
Experienced in managing budgets and financial reporting.
Australian citizen or able to meet citizen eligibility requirements to comply with Defence Industry security requirements.
Ideal candidate would be someone who has experience in Defence or experience in managing large complex events, also work with BD team, supporting Chief growth officer.
