We exist to nurture meaningful futures by assisting refugee survivors to heal, belong and thrive in our community.Role PurposeThe primary purpose of this role is to build a credible evidence base for QPASTT's services through systematic evaluation of services, programs and projects.
This includes the co-design, collation and analysis of outcomes data as well as integration of peer-reviewed research and the lived experience of QPASTT clients.
This strategic role will help cultivate an organizational culture where evaluation and research are pursued to improve practice and inform advocacy to assist people from refugee backgrounds to heal, belong and thrive in a just Australian community.ResponsibilitiesCo-design, plan and carry out service evaluations, research and strategic projects in an ethical and timely manner.Collect and analyse data as well as write-up and present the outcomes for a range of audiences including staff, refugee client groups, funders and conferences.Work collaboratively with Team Leaders and Senior Managers to develop outcome measures and evaluation processes that align staff interests and capability with organisational goals for outcome reporting to client communities and for practice innovation.Maintain complete and accurate evaluation and research records, and provide regular written and verbal reports as directed.Prepare evaluation reports and contribute to journal articles.Present evaluation and research findings at conferences, community events, staff meetings and other forums.Contribute to strategic projects and funding applications as required.Build and foster collaborative partnerships with communities from refugee backgrounds, staff, universities, services and other stakeholders.Support a positive and healthy organisational culture that is committed to learning and development.RequirementsCompletion of a PhD or postgraduate qualification in a relevant disciplinary area (e.g.
Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Social Sciences).Demonstrated experience in conducting quality mixed-methods research, including conducting interviews and qualitative data analysis in addition to quantitative data analysis using statistical software.Demonstrated experience in conducting evaluations and research with people from refugee backgrounds.Good conceptualisation and ability to articulate the ethical considerations related to co-designing and conducting evaluation and research with people from refugee backgrounds.Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, work independently and collaboratively as appropriate to complete evaluation tasks within contracted timeframes.Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, including high quality writing of evaluation reports and research papers.Demonstrated experience preparing research ethics submissions is desirable.Additional RequirementsCurrent Positive Notice Blue Card and annual national police check.Current Queensland C Class driver's licence.Occasional out of hours and weekend work.Occasional travel to regional office locations in Queensland.The period of probation will be three months.Application ProcessTo apply, please submit the following documents:A cover letter detailing why you would like to work with QPASTT and how you meet the character requirements of the role.Your resume detailing professional experience and education.A brief response (no more than 3 pages) to the responsibilities and requirements of the role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
