Across every part of our business, we're pushing for better.Join us as an European Patent Attorney , and you'll do the same.As an European Patent Attorney you will join our growing IP team and this position plays a crucial role in all activities needed to secure the Group's IP/patent rights, including providing guidance and support for IP matters arising from global Research & Development projects, Oppositions and other contested matters, due diligence, and transactional matters. You will report directly to the VP, Global Head of IP and this is an excellent opportunity for a talented attorney looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and innovative healthcare-focused organization.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESPerform prior art investigations and patentability assessments.Drafting and prosecution of patent applications.Provide infringement and validity advice.Monitoring and assessment of third-party patents.Performing due diligence in support of the Group's activities.Provide support to opposition and litigation proceedings.Instruction of outside counsel on IP matters on behalf of the Group.Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and practices that comply with applicable laws and regulations.Conduct training sessions and provide educational resources to employees and managers on IP matters to promote IP awareness and compliance within the organization.Perform additional duties as assigned.YOUR PROFILEFully qualified European Patent Attorney with a background in an Engineering discipline – biomedical, mechanical, electrical, or related.Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience as a European Patent Attorney preferably in Med-Tech, healthcare or a related industry, acquired in an IP law firm or in-house IP department.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and group presentation skills.Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice and counsel to global business partners within varied functions and global business units.High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior.YOUR COMPETENCIESCreate a sense of purpose or vision for self, group or team, demonstrating a strong team-oriented philosophy.Translate broad strategies into specific objectives and action plans.Demonstrate excellent research, project management and time management skills with the ability to set challenging, but achievable objectives.Demonstrate ability to develop creative legal solutions to legal and extra-legal concerns or problemsDemonstrate superior organizational and analytical skills and a consistent high quality of work product and able to handle a demanding workload and to effectively prioritize tasksCollaboration:Work across organizational, functional and geographic boundaries to achieve company goals.Build and maintain strong relationships with team members, other functions, strategic partners and customers.Work cooperatively with others to meet group and organizational goals.Communication:Honestly communicate direction, opinions, facts and goals clearly and with transparency.Seek multiple perspectives and listen openly to other team members' points of view.Enable and demonstrate the courage to speak up on challenging issues and risks as well as on the good news.Energize others:Create an environment that encourages continuous improvement, innovation and appropriate risk taking.Focus organization on key priorities that impact our business.Adapt to or drives positive change.OUR PROMISEthe opportunity to work independently in a dynamic and innovative environmentprofessional onboarding/trainingrepresentative work equipment and the possibility to work remoteexceptional benefitsOur ambitions will bring the very best out in you.
