Sitting within the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities and established in 2013, the School of Social Sciences is a dynamic, inter-disciplinary community of health and social science scholars of national and international standing with a goal to change society for the better. It comprises five disciplines – Criminology and Social Policy, Geography & Sustainability, Public Health, Social Work, and Occupational Health and Safety – and three research units – the Australian Centre for Engagement, Evidence and Values (ACHEEV), and the Centre for Occupational, Public and Environmental Research in Safety & Health (COPERSH).
The School of Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, energetic academic leader to provide and contribute to the vision and leadership within the Discipline of Social Work. The appointee will be an accomplished scholar, both nationally and internationally, able to locate themselves within domains of focus for the School and the Discipline, while also displaying a strong commitment to inter-disciplinarity. In collaboration with the Discipline Lead, the position provides leadership across research, teaching, and external engagement, thus shaping the future direction of the Discipline.
