The primary responsibility of this role is architecture tasks including data models, reverse engineering, and performance optimisation by designing, developing, unit testing and maintaining ETL jobs to create or enhance data warehouses / datamarts, to integrate data from multiple sources and to correctly ensure the flow of data across the internal data ecosystem layers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design ETL via source-to-target mapping and design documents that consider security, performance tuning and other best practicesTest ETL and other technical components and support QA activitiesDeploy and test code from lower environments to productionDocument technical specifications, data models, process flows, etcCollaborate with delivery and technical team members on design and development activities within Agile / Scrum teamsCollaborate with business partners to understand business processes, standard release management requirements, and underlying data and reporting needsCollaborate with IT / enterprise partners to understand processes and standard release management requirementsConduct data analysis in support of ETL development, issue analysis and resolution, and activitiesEXPERIENCE: Up to 6+ years with industry-standard ETL tools, including 3+ years with Matillion where possibleUp to 6+ years of intermediate to advanced SQL experienceUp to 6+ years with data warehouses / marts supporting business requirements, BI report development, and report analysisExperience developing within an agile (i.e. Scrum or Kanban) frameworkExperience working in a matrixed environment on a fast-paced projectBusiness experience with insurance industryExposure to Snowflake databaseSupport SAS data management and reporting toolsA broad range of experience in information systems and developmentA broad range of experience in business analysis and data analysis applications in complex information system environment.Experience with AWS tools set Lambda and glue.Data modeling experience with ERWin or SPARXExperience with Python
