You will play a key role in the overall winning bids process within a dedicated and supportive professional team environment. While similar estimating experience is preferred, we are willing to provide training and upskilling for a suitably experienced estimator/project engineer with heavy steel construction experience and SMP Project estimation.The RoleApplying first principal methodologies you will:Report to the Proposals Manager on tender preparation progress and advise of any difficulties in compiling tender submissions.Determine scope of work and specific terms and conditions.Prepare and coordinate the subcontract components required for tender submissions.Obtain highly competitive quotes for the provision of necessary materials and services.Undertake accurate material take-offs.Accurately calculate man-hour estimates, mobilisation and demobilisation costs, and plant and equipment required to specifically execute projects.Assist with construction scheduling and planning where required.Collate material take-offs and job costs into clear, well-structured spreadsheets or databases.Partake in tender reviews with senior management and adjust costings as required.About YouIdeally, you will possess the following suite of skills and expertise:Estimating experience with first principal build-up of man hours for structural steel and piping.Experience working in the SMP or fabrication disciplines.Trade background or applicable engineering degree.Ability to plan and resource manning requirements.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills including confident stakeholder engagement capacity.Highly developed Microsoft Office skills - particularly with Excel.
