Candidate can be located in Brisbane, Rockhampton or TownsvilleCareer stability and ownership of your roleVaried scope of work across the electrical sectorExposure to the Ventia Executive team and key external stakeholdersAbout the roleThe Estimator will be responsible for all estimate preparation activities for clients across Queensland. This involves all aspects of pricing delivery, including estimate coordination, pricing strategy, preparation and review through Ventia's governance process, cost estimating, cashflow analysis and reporting and liaison with various business units to develop and deliver competitive winning estimates and offers.
Review tender documents and coordinate tender approvalUnderstand the request for tender and contract to understand cost drivers for basis of estimatePreparation of indicative pricing at bid commencement to guide appropriate governance processesPrepare estimates, labour cost calculations, cost estimates and quotes, understanding future influences on margin and recommend strategies to mitigate impacts/riskDeliver pricing strategies to optimise gross margin and market competitiveness; and consult with commercial team on alternative pricing/tendering strategies to drive success ratesCreate cashflow from cost estimates and work with commercial and finance to improve cashflowAssist with provision of proforma pricing schedules for issue to suppliers and subcontractors, and subsequent review of information for incorporation into the estimate cost buildHandover and debrief of estimate build up to the finance, commercial and operations manager to assist with contract negotiations, budgeting and forecasting and implementation of the projectAbout you Tertiary qualification in engineering or technical area with a background of commercial and pricing strategyExperience in energy sector (substations, BESS, Distribution, Transmission) with specific exposure to D&C and EPC contracting modelsSound understanding of estimate development processStrong understanding of contract commercialsAbility to drive alternative pricing strategies to stay competitive/leading in a complex marketAbout VentiaVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
